Beautification- false worship of a person
Beautification is recognition by the Catholic Church of a dead person’s entrance into Heaven and their capacity to intercede on behalf of individuals who pray in his or her name.

Beautification: A declaration by the Pope as head of the Church that one of the deceased faithful lived a holy life and/or died a martyr’s death and is now dwelling in heaven. As a process, the beatification consists of a years-long examination of the life, virtues, writings, and reputation for holiness of the servant of God under consideration. This is ordinarily conducted by the bishop of the place where he or she resided or died. For a martyr miracles don’t have to be proven in order to have beautification. The second process is instituted by the Holy See when the first process reveals that the servant of God practiced virtue in a heroic degree or died a martyr for the faith. Beatified persons are called “Blessed” and may be venerated by the faithful but not throughout the universal Church.
The person that was beatified is then venerated. What does that mean? Is it the same as worship?
Catholics will often claim that they “venerate,” not worship, the beatified. To venerate is to regard with great respect or to revere. Veneration can be defined as “respect or awe directed toward someone due to his/her value or greatness.”
The simplest definition of worship is to “ascribe worth.” Worship can be more completely defined as “showing respect, love, reverence, or adoration.” Based on the dictionary, no clear difference between veneration and worship exists. In fact, veneration and worship are often used as synonyms for each other.
Are we suppose to worship dead people?
