A commitment to the Lord and His Vision

A passion for hearing from the Lord

I have a passion for hearing from the Lord, not as a prophet, but in a relational way. When I have a question, concern, or desire, I bring it to the Lord through prayer or simply by talking with Him.

One example is from after I semi-retired, when I was bored and wanted something more with my life. While out jogging one day, I talked with the Lord about my restlessness. I asked Him, “Should I get another job?” Then I added that I enjoy being home to take care of things, and I thought it would be great to have a job where I could work from home. When I got back from my jog, I wrote down my desire to work from home on a piece of paper and forgot about it.

Over time, I started a bed and breakfast in my home, using a spare bedroom with a private entrance. Months later, I found the little piece of paper in a drawer. It said, “I would like to work from my house.” It surprised me, because even though I had forgotten my prayer, God had not.

He loves us so much, and many similar experiences since then have strengthened my trust in a God who is deeply interested in a relationship with His children.

Lately, as I continue to talk with God in this way, I have been seeking His wisdom on prophetic passages in the Bible and what they mean. This blog shares the conclusions I have reached so far.

If you don’t yet have a relationship with God, I hope this blog inspires you to begin one. If you already do, I hope it strengthens that relationship. Enjoy the journey!
