ARMAGEDDON

ARMAGEDDON

Revelation 16:16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

The War

The “beast”, another name for the antichrist and government organization that takes over the world, gathers kings and armies and horses and gets ready to fight Christ and His army.

Revelation 19:17-21 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; 18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. 19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

Lake of Fire

20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

This blasphemous organization, (the beast), along with the false prophet is thrown into the lake of fire.  I don’t think the antichrist is alive at this time.  He is not mentioned here unless his mention is as part of the entire beast organization.  Which doesn’t make sense because the false prophet is mentioned separate.

I think the “mouth” talked about in Daniel 7:8 and Revelation 13:5 represents the antichrist.  And I think the antichrist is only alive during the first half of the tribulation because in Revelation 13:5 it says the mouth is given power for only 42 months, just the first half of the 3 1/2 year tribulation.

Revelation 13:5
And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months
Revelation 13:6  And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

It also talks about a “mouth speaking great things” in Daniel 7:8 and Daniel 7:20

Daniel 7:8
I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
Daniel 7:20
And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.

Back to the Armageddon war…Unbelievers are slain by Christ’s Sword

Those people that did not give their lives to Christ will be slain with Christ’s sword at this point.

Revelation 19:21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

The sword in the Lord Jesus’ mouth is used to slay the remnant of unbelievers at the end of the tribulation.  He may just quote scripture since the Bible is called a sword.
